UZIN Plurafilm Hydro Wins “Product Innovation of the Year” at the National Flooring Awards 2025
UZIN has been awarded Product Innovation of the Year at the National Flooring Awards 2025 for UZIN Plurafilm Hydro, the company’s moisture protection and double‑sided adhesive tape system. The award was received by Matthew Brown, Uzin Utz UK Managing Director, on 3rd January 2026 at the Crowne Plaza venue in Newcastle.

UZIN Plurafilm Hydro is a SwitchTec® double-sided adhesive tape and damp-proof membrane (DPM) that enables the immediate installation of floor coverings on damp cementitious substrates with moisture levels up to 99.9% relative humidity. This innovation enables contractors to deliver same-day or next-day refurbishments, minimising disruption to business operations and dramatically reducing the time required for flooring renovations, which are typically extended due to screed drying and adhesive curing times. The system is suitable for vinyl, luxury vinyl tiles, carpet, and rubber floor coverings, offering instant walkability and allowing grooving and welding of sheet vinyl immediately after installation. It also promotes cleaner, quieter, and low-odour installations and is compatible with underfloor heating systems.
From an environmental perspective, UZIN Plurafilm Hydro is solvent-free and EC1-Plus certified, featuring very low volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions. By reducing the reliance on hazardous epoxy DPMs, the system lowers chemical waste while supporting healthier indoor environments and sustainable building certification goals.
